Mary Belle experienced problems of the mind after the birth of her last child. There was a court hearing where she was determined to not be of sound mind. She was appointed a guardian by the name of Marr. She later came to the state mental hospital in Fulton unaccompanied by her family. She later died here. Very little information could be obtained from her.
