Technology
is really big at Holliday C-2 School. A computer lab
with 16 computers are available for student use. There are
computers in every classroom. Students know how to use the
internet, Athena (library search software), Microsoft Word, Microsoft
PowerPoint, All the Right Type, and Inspiration 6. Students are
using handhelds, too.

Students
have
learned to use the Athena system to check out books and look up
information.
District
newsletter is published each month called the Holliday
Happenings and and updates are made to the school web site.
Students can tell at a
glance if the book they are checking out has a quiz on the Scholastic
Reading Counts Program. Students can see by all the red tape on
the book's spines that a great number of books in our library can be
found on the quiz on Reading Counts.

Students use
the Inspiration 6 Software to plan projects and do other
activities.
Students have
used it in Technology Class and Library Class.
It is on
the network and may be used in all the classrooms as
well.

Students
use Microsoft
Word beginning in Kindergarten to type their favorite journal entry for
the week. Students in other grades use Word to type up book
reports and complete classroom assignments.

Mrs. Mann uses the
computer with web cam and projector to visit with the Pinon
Unified School District in Pinon, Arizona. The students live
on the Nvajo Reservation. The web cam allowed the studetns to
talk and see each other.
Students use PowerPoint
to make presentations, books, and other assignments in Technology,
Library, and other classes. Students have completed a Christmas
PowerPoint and author PowerPoint in Library Class. The Veteran's
Day program used PowerPoint to add to the presentation by the 6th and
7th grade class that was presented on the big screen in the auditorium
to the student body, visitors, Advisory Council, and School Board
Students in
grades 4-8 use All the Right Type to practice keyboarding during
Technology class and during Library. Students practice
often. Teachers have mounted projectors in their classrooms to
display the information from their computers to their classroom
screen. Mr. Schoonover uses an Elmo to display work on her screen.
Teachers have been
working on adding additional Technology related activities in their
classrooms and up-dating the web pages for each classroom.
